Welcome
My name is Matthew Wilson. I am a web developer and an employee at The Container Store. I used to be a fulltime web developer, now I simply work in that field on a freelance basis.
This site will serve several purposes:
- To provide a platform for continuing to develop my web skills
- To provide potential clients with examples of my work
- To develop a place for a blog that will cover a variety of topics

Companies that Rule and Why
- The Container Store
- Ok, I am biased as this is the company for which I work. But, if you have ever walked into a Container Store location, you would know why this is a terrific company. Great service, great products and wonderful employees who know their stuff. What else can you ask for in a big-box store? Actually, you can ask for a lot more and The Container Store has it. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Special Savings area. It rocks!
- Tom's of Maine
- Whoever thought that toothpaste and deodorant could be so extrordinary? Well, Tom's of Maine not only makes terrific products, but they show an uncanny love for building relationships with their customers and community. Yes, yes, 85% of the company was acquired by corporate giant, Colgate, last year. But despite that hiccup in their history, Tom's of Maine remains a wonderful, unsoiled part of the American economic landscape. They demonstrate to us all what a company should be.
- Donek Snowboards
- Colorado's oldest snowboard manufacturer is also one of the best snowboard manufacturers I have ever encountered. Superb product with every attention to detail. Owner operated, non-corporate, and terrifically friendly. My heart sings everytime I think of Sean and his crew building a new snowboard.
- Burton Snowboards
- Who says that all giants are evil! I have purchased Burton products for most of my life. They consistently deliver solid product, solid service and have built the sport of snowboarding into what it is today (not all of it is good mind you). Yet, despite what you may think of snowboarding or snowboarders, Burton is a rock solid cornerstone in the foundation of snowsport history. Jake Burton Carpenter, the owner, is a pioneer, leader and inspiration to all who love winter.
- Calder's Coffee
- I love coffee shops. I loved this one. Unfortunately, Calder's Coffee has closed. It is always sad when great places say goodbye. I hope that Steve, the owner, is moving on to even better things. I wish him and his family well.
- Nau
- Seem exspensive? Well, watch how expensive life gets if we don't start focusing on sustainability and the reuse of materials for building, development and, yes, clothing! Nau has the clothing part figured out. Good looking, highly functional and nearly all recyclable! They even have a blog!
